During my exam period this past April (so like three weeks ago) I got really into podcasts. By “really into podcasts” I mean I downloaded every single episode before I left the house, listened to them on my ride to school, studied with them on and even fell asleep listening to them. I know, I’m a freak.
Today, I’m going to be sharing my favourite podcasts and what I love about them. I might share the things I don’t like about them but I want you to listen to them, not pass on them. So I better now. Without further ado, my all time favourite podcasts!
Psychobabble – Tyler Oakley & Korey Kuhl
First and foremost, I remember two years ago I started listening to Psychobabble by the infamous Tyler Oakley and his incredible friend Korey Kuhl. Damn, they are hilarious and when you’re listening to the podcast you feel like you’re in the room with them. I cannot tell you how many times I straight up laughed out loud to myself on the bus listening to these. This podcast is great if you want to listen to something fun, exciting and throws you into the world of Drag Queens and funny child-hood memories. This is the podcast for you.
Prinze & The Wolf – Freddie Prinze Jr. & Josh Wolf
The second playlist is a bit more for the nerd in you, Prinze and The Wolf is a comedy podcast with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Josh Wolf. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Freddie and his amazing wife Sarah (look at me writing about them like I know them… We’re on a first name basis…Just kidding, wow) Josh and Freddie have an amazing chemistry during their podcasts. They play off each other’s jokes and get so distracted when one starts to tell a story. Listening to this podcast has brought me to a much better appreciation of Star Wars and comic-books, some of my favourite things. This podcast is also a killer one if you want to hear about some amazing early 90’s celeb stories, cue hunky Freddie Prinze Jr. in She’s All That and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Jenna & Julien Podcast – Jenna Mourey & Julien Solomita
The third podcast I enjoy listening to is The Jenna & Julien Podcast. Who are these people you ask? If you don’t know who Jenna Marbles (Mourey) is… Have you been having a bad internet connection for the past 8 years? She’s great, every time I listen to this podcast or watch a video, I feel so relaxed, like I am among friends. Julien is her boyfriend but also a successful vlogger and incredible at AD placement. The two of them are probably some of the funniest people on the internet. Don’t take my word for it though, go have a listen. Jenna and Julien recently featured Jenna’s mom on their episode last week and I could not stop laughing, you better go check it out and see why.
Shane & Friends – Shane Dawson & Jessie Buttafuoco
I recently got into Shane and Friends (I say as I just binge-listened to five episodes in a row) I’ve always loved Shane Dawson’s videos but this is something else. I just finished listening to his podcast with James Charles, the lovely gentleman who became covergirl’s first male ambassador and it was hilarious, the jokes and stories they told were to die for. If you haven’t checked it out, I would put it on your to-do list for this week (especially if you have nothing to do).
The Basement Yard by Joe Santagato
There’s another podcast I’ve been a long-time lover of and that’s The Basement Yard by Joe Santagato, I’ve been listening to this podcast for over a year and I love every second of it. Each guest Joe brings in, whether it’s his brother or another youtuber or just his friends, it’s always filled with some good jokes and doesn’t seem like you just wasted an hour or so on a podcast. Overall, it’s a fun podcast to listen to if you enjoy easy going jokes and laughing along to some really hilarious and random stories, I know I do.
Lately a lot of these podcasts have been available at fullscreen, which I believe is a great platform. Most of these podcasts are available there and you can actually watch the jokes unfold instead of just listening to them. It’s only 5$ a month, The Basement Yard and Psychobabble have a free month available if you use their code when signing up. I tried it out for the month and was able to listen to my favorite podcasts earlier, clearer and on video format. It was great, not only should you should out these podcasts but also give fullscreen a try. You won’t regret it! And if you do… The podcasts are only an hour, so what were you doing anyways?
